The strongest chess tourney ever!

Sinquefield Cup Day 1

I am honored to take part in the world’s strongest chess tournament ever. History is in the making right here in St. Louis and I am so excited to participate in the record breaking event. As the official “sideline reporter” or “roaming reporter” for the live international broadcast, today was a day of firsts for me.

Not only did I begin reporting at my very first chess event, but I also gave a weather report at a chess match. Who knew?!

The Sinquefield Cup is a two-week-long international chess tournament, held at the chess capital of the United States — the Chess Club of St. Louis, with six of the top 10 Grand Masters in the world competing in a double round robin for the top prize of $100,000.

It is an exciting and HUGE event in the chess world, attracting thousands of viewers from across the globe.

Yesterday, I was introduced to the world of chess and the top competitors in the sport today (including world champion Magnus Carlsen) with an autograph session that kicked off the Sinquefield Cup 2014 festivities.
