Baseball Bats and Bowling Balls

They might both start with b’s but baseball and bowling are two totally different sports. The main difference, the pace. Therefore I had to be a little more creative in shooting my bowling package than the baseball package. I feel like both of the packages’ videos turned out well. I tried to fit in as many sequences as I could. Bowling was a gold mine for sequences. Because it is a very repetitive sport, I was able to get a lot of sequences from different angles.

“Macon it happen”

Sometimes there is not a whole lot of newsiness to a topic, its just plain interesting. So when someone told me about the Macon County Historical Society’s new museum I was definitely hooked, but it wasn’t newsy. The museum itself is interesting, but the building is what captured my attention. It began as a military academy that was known as the “Westpoint of the Midwest.”

A Tree v. a Rodeo

Two weeks ago I got a chance to saddle-up and go to the rodeo (well I didn’t actually get on a horse and I just went to rodeo practice.) I got to do a story on the Missouri Valley College Men’s Rodeo team who is No. 1 in the nation. This was a great experience, I love learning about sports that are not in the mainstream (like basketball, baseball, football, etc.)
